The Venerable Cross

The Lord's Life-giving Cross is "the power of God" (1 Cor. 1:18), according to the Apostle Paul. This is why it was reverenced by all Christians from the very beginning.

We venerate the Cross not because we believe it is God, but in order to express our soul’s sincere disposition and love towards Him Who was crucified upon it.
